Processing Windows & Cutoffs
Learn about Orum’s processing windows and cutoff times for ACH, RTP, FedNow, and Cards
ACH
Orum accepts ACH requests as individual transfer requests and processes them in batches based on the Fed’s transmission deadlines. All transfer requests received after an API request Deadline will be processed in the following File Submission.
- Same Day ACH requests can be processed in the first three windows.
- Same Day requests that come after the 4:30pm ET deadline will be processed as standard ACH with an effective entry date of the following banking day.
Transfer request will move to a completed
state after Orum receives acknowledgement from the Fed that it has successfully received the ACH file for that processing window. This generally occurs within 20-30 minutes after the Fed transmission deadline for that window.
See more details on the timing of settlement of ACH transfers in our Hold Times & Funds Availability Guide.

Bank Holidays
The Federal Reserve Banks observe several holidays throughout the year and close for processing. On recognized holidays, ACH and wires will not be processed. Please make sure to account for any cash and processing needs during these interruptions.

RTP & FedNow
RTP and FedNow are push only rails and both operate 24/7/365. Transactions can be processed on holidays and weekends and successful payouts will post in the recipients account within seconds. Unlike ACH and Card rails, these rails have occasional downtime at the receiving banks.
Common downtime reasons include:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Network connectivity issues
- Outages at The Clearing House or the Fed level
If you receive errors related to the being unavailable or TCH/FedNow timeouts, you may have to retry the payment at a later time or send the payment over ACH.
Cards
While card transactions will process 24/7/365 there are cutoff times for Account Funding Transactions (AFT). Funds will be debited from the users account in real time but that does not mean funds are available in your Orum balance.
Card push transactions (OCT) will settle in the recipient’s account within 30 minutes of a successful transaction request 24/7/365 without any cutoff times.
See more details on timing of settlement for AFT in our Hold Times & Funds Availability Guide.
