Customer Communication

Orum requires that you make your end users aware of the penny deposit prior to verifying their account. This ensures all payment network rules are adhered to and avoids confusion regarding the purpose and originator of the transaction.

Orum will collect evidence of this process within your UX prior to granting production access.

 Sample Language

As part of our account verification process, you will receive a deposit of **$0.01 **into your account. The deposit description may vary but will include “**ACCTVERIFY**.” This deposit is permanent and will not be debited out of your account at a later date. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at [Support Contact Information].

A Note For Resellers

If you are a reseller of Verify, you will need to enforce these requirements with your customers. Orum may require you to provide evidence of this for specific verification transactions upon request. 

You may also be asked to provide your basic terms and conditions that you provide to your customers, which could include online terms and conditions or contract templates flowing down the requirement to notify their customers of the verification transactions. 

Production Testing

Under no circumstances should production testing be performed on any accounts that are not anticipating and aware of the possibility for the penny deposits. You may not run tests on account data sets or existing user account information without first communicating with the account holders and having a legitimate reason to verify the status of their account.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in Orum removing your access to Verify.
